"American Horror Story" revolves around The Harmons, a family of three who move from Boston to Los Angeles as a means to reconcile past anguish. The All Star cast features Dylan McDermott (The Practice) as "Ben Harmon," a psychiatrist; Connie Britton (Friday Night Lights) as "Vivien Harmon," Ben's wife; Taissa Farmiga as "Violet," the Harmon's teenage daughter; Jessica Lange (Tootsie, Blue Sky, Grey Gardens) in her first-ever regular series TV role as "Constance," the Harmon's neighbor; Evan Peters (One Tree Hill) as "Tate Langdon," one of Ben's patients; and Denis O'Hare (The Good Wife) as "Larry Harvey."

In the sci-fi FOX drama, Fringe, a self-taught genius named Peter Bishop and FBI agent Olivia Dunham team up to investigate paranormal activity. They seek help from Bishop’s father, Walter, a brilliant (but possibly insane) scientist who is being held in a mental institution. Fringe explores mysteries of the paranormal as well as the relationships between the characters, and is steeped in mythology.

From its Fox Network debut on September 10, 1993, to its finale on May 19, 2002, the weekly 60-minute sci-fi drama The X-Files endeavored to prove that "the truth is out there." The series' title refers to those FBI files dealing with cases of paranormal and other otherwise unexplainable phenomena -- UFO sightings, alien abductions, genetic experimentation, possessions, telekinesis, and the like. Investigating the X-Files are agents Fox Mulder (David Duchovny) and Dana Scully (Gillian Anderson). Notorious within FBI circles as a maverick and iconoclast, the Oxford-educated Mulder made it his personal mission in life to prove that there were more things in Heaven and on Earth than were dreamt of in our philosophy. For him, it was very personal: his own sister had been abducted by extraterrestrials some 20 years earlier. His more skeptical partner, medical doctor Scully, was assigned to curb Mulder's more "fanciful" theories and to seek logical explanations to the phenomena at hand. (Ironically, in real life, actor David Duchovny doubted the existence of space aliens, while Gillian Anderson confessed to being a "true believer.") As the series progressed, Scully became more convinced that there were indeed paranormal forces beyond her ken; conversely, Mulder began to concede that Scully could be right once in a while, and tried to prove that humans, rather than aliens, were responsible for selected phenomena. 

Each successive season of The X-Files ended with a cliffhanger, ranging from the murder of Mulder's information source "Deep Throat" (Jerry Hardin) to the birth of a mutant child who may or may not have belonged to one of the agents. No matter what happened, the physical evidence proving (or disproving) alien intervention invariably disappeared, and it was abundantly clear that there were those within the government who didn't want the truth to come out. Among the most obstreperous of Mulder and Scully's antagonists was a ubiquitous, obnoxious stranger (William B. Davis), known variously as "Cancer Man" and "Cigarette Smoking Man," and finally identified as one C.G.B. Spender. Other regulars and semi-regulars over the years have included Mitch Pileggi as Mulder and Scully's boss, Assistant FBI Director Walter Skinner; Steven Williams as Mr. X, another enigmatic information source; Nicholas Lea as Agent Alex Krycek; Mimi Rogers as Agent Diana Fowley; Chris Owens as Agent Jeffrey Spender; and Tom Braidwood as Melvin Frohike, a member of a government "conspiracy watchdog" group known as The Lone Gunman. One of the most popular series ever to emanate from Fox, The X-Files was also one of the longest-lasting science fiction series of all time, surpassed in longevity only by the endless Star Trek saga. In 1998, the series spawned a successful theatrical feature, also titled The X-Files, which tied up several loose plot ends from the series while establishing a whole new set of mysterious complications. When Sam Winchester was an infant, and his brother Dean Winchester was only four years old, their mother, Mary, was murdered on November 2, 1983 (All Souls Day). Her husband, John, saw blood dripping onto Sam's cradle, looked up, and found his wife pinned to the ceiling, her midsection sliced open. A moment later, she burst into flames. John told Dean to take baby Sam outside and tried to make a desperate and futile attempt to save his wife while the house was consumed by flames. 
After a psychic told John that something of the supernatural was responsible for Mary's death, he became obsessed with finding and destroying the thing that killed his wife and in the process trained his sons to recognize and defend themselves against paranormal entities. At a young age, both Sam and Dean became resourceful sleuths and experienced fighters assisting their father in his quest to destroy dangerous creatures and find the Demon that had killed their mother. However, Sam rebelled against the lifestyle his father chose for him, eventually having a falling out with his father and leaving to live a "normal" life. He attended Stanford University on a full scholarship and lived with his girlfriend, Jessica Moore, in an apartment near campus. But when Dean, after two years of estrangement, appears one night on Sam's doorstep during the autumn of his senior year, bearing the news that their father has gone missing while on a "hunting trip". Sam reluctantly agrees to help Dean in the search.

The brothers trace John to Jericho, California, where they find more clues about their father's possible location and help solve the ghost murder mystery their father had been working on before he disappeared. After all was said and done however and John was yet to be found, Sam declines his brother's invitation to continue the search and conduct more hunts, opting instead to return to his life with Jessica. Unfortunately, shortly after arriving back in his apartment, he finds her pinned to the bedroom ceiling, bleeding from the abdomen. As Sam watches helplessly she bursts into flames and dies in the same manner as his mother, twenty-two years to the day afterwards. Dean rescues his brother from the burning apartment, and the bereaved Sam decides to join Dean in the search for their father who may have answers about the demon who killed his mother and his girlfriend. In Dean's 1967 Chevy Impala, the Winchester brothers pick up John's trail, traveling the back roads and small towns of the continental United States in the process.

Eventually the brothers locate their father, and he reveals the extent of his knowledge of the demon that killed Mary, and his intention to kill it. At first he opposes the boys' involvement because he fears losing them, but eventually he yields. Together, the Winchesters search for a special weapon: the Colt, which was created during the Battle of the Alamo and at the time of Halley's Comet passing. Being made by the legendary Samuel Colt, for a hunter, the gun has the ability to destroy any creature, with a well placed shot. All three Winchesters, after recovering the Colt from a band of vampires, band together and start to hunt the demon in earnest. However, due to a series of catastrophic events (beginning with John's capture), they are eventually overpowered by the demon. While possessing John the demon nearly tortures Dean to death before Sam is able to and shoot it in the leg with the Colt. Sam tries to rush Dean and John to the hospital, but a demon then possesses a semi truck driver and plows into Dean's Impala. Demolishing it and leaving all three Winchesters incapacitated inside the wreckage.

The Vampire Diaries

The Vampire Diaries started with "The Birthday" and immediately kicked us with a gory Stefan who is dubbed "The Ripper." Why, because when he gets into the vampire sucking crazed mode, he drinks so deeply that he just pops the heads off his victims. Stefan is paired with the evil hybrid vampire-werewolf Klaus. Elena and Damon are searching for Stefan in their own ways. Rumors say Caroline and Matt may have some steamy scenes while there is major sexual tensions between Caroline and Tyler. Jeremy is seeing ghosts of his old girl friends. Looks like we are going to have a great Vampire Diaries season.

The Walking Dead Season 1 was so good that anyone that watched it just loved it. Zombies running loose all over America and the episodes where we go to the city are just awesome. Fast paced zombie mayhem with great visuals and the settings always make you feel like it is a worldwide epidemic. The season finale left us with the zombie fighting crew traveling to the Center for Disease Control and the actions that took place there. Season 2 "announced that the second season will feature Grimes’ group of survivors leaving Atlanta for the countryside, including the Greene family farm, a setting in the comic book series."
